Always On The Run

visualizing life as a mythic quest

March

March may conceivably be the busiest month I deal with this year. So I’m facing it deliberately, and one day at a time. A woman I work with spent three years living in China, and she mentioned a project that I love the idea of. Every day for a month, you write down five things that you felt went well, and five misses. At the end of the week, you review.

Simple. Except nothing is as difficult as simplicity. So, here I go.

Things that went well:

  1. Incredibly excited about putting together the targeting project
  2. Silly as it sounds, Toni’s was a hit
  3. This song on HitRecord - kind of made my day, and cannot wait to see what happens once there are lyrics
  4. All of the prep work for roll day tomorrow
  5. Actually feeling energetic again

Misses:

  1. Didn’t do enough on the targeting project - still easy to get distracted by old assignments that are being wrapped up by the new team
  2. Haven’t picked up yarn for the baby blanket
  3. Still focused on doing - need to step back and get some perspective before jumping in
  4. Grad school - that is all
  5. Need to clean up the apartment

Permalink Sometimes I really laugh at the concept of “emo” culture. It’s a real thing, don’t get me wrong, but last I check, it was just being a teenager.
And every once in a while, teenagers actually get it right.
Permalink Very true. If you want to be something different, go out and be something different.

Post Secret

A fantastic social experiment - if you’ve never seen this before, it’s certainly worth taking a look.
